”Happiness”  (행복; haengbok) is the debut song of Red Velvet.

The lyrics of the song is carry a positive message on getting energy of everyday activities and loving yourself more.

The song is described as a vibrant urban Euro pop song with a great fusion of an intense synth sound and an African music beat. It undergoes various changes with diverse rap and vocals. It portrays the world from the perspective of young, innocent people who are untainted. It conveys a message that how you can feel empowered and love yourself more by appreciating the small joy in life.

The music video is filled with fantastic color schemes, diverse footage and animated scenes, exciting and energetic dance routine consisting of reggae steps and rhythmic movements. It was initially released on August 1, 2014 but then re-released on August 4, 2014 due to controversial imagery concerning the Japan bombing. The group started promotion of the song on the day of it’s initial release.

For me, this song makes me think that happiness is a very important thing. This song always remember me to feel happy everyday.
